This is a video of my daughter Sofie and my Dad playing a game I used to love as a child. My Dad would pretend he had an invisible ball and I would throw it into the paper bag. My dad would then snap his fingers on the bag and to make it look like the ball was landing in the bottom of he bag. I could play that game for hours. Now Sofie is at an age where she can enjoy this too an be amazed by the magic of the game.
I am so thankful today for all the many blessing God has bestowed upon me and my family. I am thankful for my parents and they 're letting us live here until Ken is settled in his new job. They also love every minute the can get with Sofie. I am thankful for my in laws whoa re always happy to have us crash at their place and let Sofie destroy the place and they love her fiercely and are always willing to babysit so Ken and I can have free time.
I am thankful for my friends old and new and for everyone who has prayed for us, wished us well, visited us or helped us out during our time in Florida these last 2 years. It has been an interesting journey but we are excited to see what God has in store for the next few years now!
Today is a day to count my blessings and be thankful for all I have because like one of my BFF's says "There are babies dying in Africa" or in other words someone else always has it worse so be thankful for what you do have.

Getting Settled
Well we are in Michigan now and starting to get settled in. glad to be here but I am really missing the weather in Florida. Although it is a balmy 52 and sunny today. I can't complain too much when we have sunshine. Sunshine is a rare commodity in Michigan in the winter. Now we just have to be patient until Ken is done with his training at Meijer and finds out what city he will be posted in as a store manager.
I am also starting to get into a routine with my new fitness routine and with how Sofie and I spend our days. It's really nice to be at my parents house for now. It's cozy and Sofie loves being able to see her grandparents everyday. I also like being able to do Insanity(my fitness routine) with out my obnoxious former neighbor complaining and banging on the ceiling.
I have recently become a Beachbody Fitness coach and am excited about being able to help others on their journey to better health and fitness. The next thing I am going to get involved in is a company called Thirtyone. It is a Christian company based on Proverbs 31 about a woman of exceptional value. They sell purses and various forms of bags. The items are great and the colors and patterns are super fun. So if anyone wants to book a party....lol.
I'll be posting some pictures soon so stay tooned for more!

What's important
I never thought I would say this but I am glad to be moving back to Michigan. It has been a long adventurous 2 years in Florida but being so far from friends and family has been very hard. My husband and I never realized the extent to which we would miss being near everyone. Also with the advent of Facebook I have been able to re-connect with old friends and create new ones in my home state. Being 1500 miles away makes it hard to get together and have that face to face time I really crave with my friends.
I am writing this as I sit in a hotel room in Florida getting ready to drive back to Mi. Sofie is with my parents and Ken is working in Jackson, Mi. It has felt a little weird knowing neither Ken nor Sofie will ever be back here. Thank God my friend Gabby is here to help.
This whole moving back to Mi. thing has been very bittersweet. I love Florida and the weather. I hate Mi. winters. Our little family has made some great memories here and we have done a lot of growing mentally and spiritually. I know I have the memories to look back on and hundreds of pictures but to be physically leaving is a strange feeling. I am excited to be back to the place where all the people I love the most are that is for sure. I feel sad that I am leaving a state where I have always dreamed of living. I know Fl. is not going anywhere so I am confident that in the future I will be back even if it is as a snowbird.
Now to get ready for some new adventures in an old place. The saying that "you don't know what you have until it's gone' is true. I have realized all that Mi. has to offer and all that I still have not discovered there. I am grateful the God allowed us to have this growing time in Florida and I am ready for the next step.

This blog is a way for me to share the ups and downs of being a parent and to give me a place to vent about the frustrations of raising a child. It is also a place to chronicle all the fun times and little miracles of parenthood.
