It's Christmas eve and we are in Michigan this year. Yippee. What a relief. Christmas in Florida was fun but also lonely at the same time. It was nice not having to travel back and forth to both families but it was strange having just the three of us. Much more relaxed for my husband because he was able just to stay at home and watch TV and play with all of Sofie's new toys though.
We are looking forward to the craziness this year though. Still getting used to the snow again after 2 winters without it. Well, at least I am anyway. Seems like I am cold all the time but Sofie is loving it and we have even built a snow man and snow angels and a MONSTER size snowball.
This holiday season brings us answered prayers in the form of moving back to Michigan to be near friends and family and a new job for Ken. He is much happier now and even though we have to live apart temporarily while he trains, we are glad for what God has done for us in this area. God truly does answer prayers, especially when they are in line with what he knows is best for you and he is good all the time.
It's been really fun watching Sofie enjoy the whole Christmas season. We have something called The Elf on the Shelf. He is a little elf that watches over her during the 24 days leading up to Christmas. Every morning he is in the house someplace and she has to find him and every night he goes back to the North Pole to report to Santa if she was good or bad. She can't touch him or his magic goes away but she can and does talk to him. It's so fun to see the joy in her eyes every morning when she looks for and finds the elf. She really believes he is real. Then on the 25th he goes away until next year. It's a blast! Lets just hope this year she doesn't get tired of opening presents like in years past!
Well I hope this past year has been great for everyone and I pray that the new year brings you health and happiness and many blessings.

This blog is a way for me to share the ups and downs of being a parent and to give me a place to vent about the frustrations of raising a child. It is also a place to chronicle all the fun times and little miracles of parenthood.
