We have had an exciting summer in Michigan. It was such a blessing that Ken had to have back surgery because he was off for 12 weeks and we spent much of it in Michigan. We had many adventures and spent tons of time with our families and friends. I am sad that I did not get to see very friend I would have liked while here but we feel that God is moving and will soon bring us back.
Sofie was able to experience Mackinac island for the first time, help Grandpa Ackley with the 'bucket of doom' and his chipmunk and squirrel traps, swim in the garage at Grandma and Grandpa Babcock's house, go fishing and catch a fish for the first time plus many other adventures.
God has a way of showing you things in a new light after you have suffered through some hardships and frustrations. While we were here He showed us how much we took for granted when we lived in Michigan and how much we have missed since we moved to Florida. The old saying that "the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence" has never been more true for me than now. We are preparing to leave this morning for Florida. Our residence is there but Florida is not our home.
We are very much looking forward to what God has in store for us in the next few months.
